Spring soccer has arrived on the Monterey Peninsula.  MYSA, in conjunction with the Monterey County Futbol Club (MCFC), will be working to provide opportunities for MYSA recreational soccer players to participate in spring soccer activities.  Over the next year we will announce two types of spring soccer that compliment our Fall program. MYSA's participation in spring soccer will be developed according to the same philosophies of player participation and development established in our Fall program, and will help to develop a stronger soccer culture within the City of Marina. All MYSA spring teams will disband in July and reform in December so that players and coaches may participate in the MYSA Fall program.  All MYSA players in the spring programs must have played at least one season of MYSA Fall soccer to be eligible to participate in MYSA spring soccer.

First, there will be a recreational league organized by MCFC that will begin in April.  This league will play at a more competitive level than the MYSA Fall program, with the league keeping scores, standings, and an end of the season tournament. The coaches in the spring recreational league will receive more training than during the Fall program and we anticipate a higher level in the quality of soccer play.

Second, MYSA is working with selected Fall program coaches to develop MYSA Select teams to play competitive "travel ball" soccer within the MCFC CYSA and US Club program.  The MCFC competition soccer program represents the highest quality of youth soccer on the Monterey Peninsula.

Spring Competition Soccer

We are actively building the MYSA competition program.  Although we anticipate open player tryouts, the formation of competitive teams will be driven by the development of coaches through the MYSA program. Tryouts for individual teams will only be announced once qualified coaches have been identified and trained.
